With the purpose to transfer knowledge from hill tribe master weavers to younger generations, the first weaving workshop was successfully organized at the Thai Tribal Crafts Fair Trade office building. There were 13 attendees on this day learning workshop. The whole process of weaving corporately through sharing the knowledge and experiences, practicing the weaving textile and patterns as well as getting to know each other closely.

In the experience sharing section among the weaving trainers, they appeared to be familiar with the handwoven textiles when they were children with the guidance of their mothers. As they grew old, they learn more of the weaving ornamentation and gained improvement of their skills in decorating the textile with variety of beautiful colors. They could design many patterns on the fabric and are willing to pass their knowledge to the younger people. This proves the form of knowledge transferring to young generation to engage in the traditional continuation.

This activity could lead the way of development to uphold the responsibility of our future and sustain the community cooperation in empowering the local skilled people, our partners of new generation producers or artisans and strengthening the accomplishment of our Fair-Trade partnership missions. The main goal of this activity is focusing on the passing knowledge of Karen weaving to the new generation that our next generation could keep this knowledge flourishingly for the traditional continuity.
